UN Security Council to Vote on US and Russian Proposals for Gaza Conflict Humanitarian Action

Diplomats have reported that the United Nations Security Council is set to vote on Wednesday regarding rival proposals from the United States and Russia concerning the situation in the Gaza Strip, where conflict persists between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas.

The proposals from both nations aim to address critical shortages of essential supplies such as food, water, medical resources, and electricity in Gaza. The United States is advocating for temporary pauses to facilitate the delivery of aid to Gaza, while Russia is pushing for a humanitarian cease-fire.
